So you think you know about SLAT’s…well then, you must attend this virtual presentation! Spousal Lifetime Access Trusts (SLAT’s) have been around and part of the estate planning world for many years. However, over the course of time, the term “SLAT” has sometimes become somewhat “generic” in nature, reference, and perhaps in practice. Some professionals – and perhaps clients – feel the SLAT is some basic, generic type of concept, planning strategy, and legal document. While it may be news to some, a SLAT is simply not a one-trick, one-version pony! There are not only many types and variations of the SLAT, but it can be one of the most advantageous, beneficial, and powerful estate and tax planning strategies in the tax and estate planning world!
Generically speaking, a basic SLAT is an irrevocable trust with the grantor/trust creator's spouse as the primary beneficiary. It gives the spouse access to trust assets during lifetime. However, that is where generics and basics end! Every SLAT can, and we will learn why, and should be unique! In this exciting presentation, the Greater New Jersey Estate Planning Council will have none other than nationally known Martin Shenkman CPA, MBA, PFS, AEP, JD present on what a SLAT really is, what it can do, and how powerful it can be! A SLAT can and should have numerous optional provisions included, based on every client’s specific and detailed situation. There are numerous and extensive options available that can not only differentiate one SLAT from another but also provide the client with the maximum advantages and benefits! There is potentially nearly unlimited flexibility in SLAT design and implementation!
In this presentation, Marty Shenkman will present and educate us on the many different features and options that can be added to SLAT design and planning. Some of these are designed to enhance the spouse's access, address future and unknown changes in circumstances and life, enhance creditor protection, and add income tax planning flexibility and benefits, and more!
This is a DO NOT MISS PRESENTATION. Please join us to learn about the many different SLAT designs and strategies! You will learn about many great strategies and techniques that can and will benefit your clients! This is a VIRTUAL PRESENTATION ONLY, so DO NOT MISS IT! REGISTER TODAY!
