DESCRIPTION:\nDecanting has been one of the hottest topics in recent years. Has a client said to you “I want to change that” trust – that “irrevocable” – that we did? Have you wanted to do something new, or better, with an irrevocable trust that you did for a client in the past? Life can throw all of us – both clients and professionals – curveballs. Circumstances change. Sometimes drastically. Maybe one of the client’s children didn’t turn out the way the parents had hoped. Unanticipated circumstances. Divorce, drugs, alcohol, lawsuits, creditors, and the list goes on.\n \n \n \nHowever, there are innumerable reasons our clients – and perhaps you as a professional – would like a “do over” so to speak. Even if not, perhaps today there is something new and something better for your client. Also, what states can you decant from? What states should you decant to? What can and can’t you do? The questions are endless. We now have the Uniform Trust Code here in New Jersey. Decanting is becoming more popular as more clients are looking to do new things, other things, and better things! This opens the door to new and powerful ideas and opportunities – and reasons for us as professionals to contact our clients.\n\n Ray Radigan, Senior Vice President, Head of Private Trust and Private Client Group, from the TD Bank Private Client Wealth Management Group, is going to present on this exciting and hot topic. You will gain some great insight – and some excellent ideas -- so that you can contact clients today! Don’t miss this exciting event.[]\n \n \n \n\n \nIn his leadership role, Ray is responsible for managing the trust activity across the TD Bank\n footprint from Maine to Florida. He oversees the Trust Advisors who bring TD Wealth's full range\n of investment options to U.S clients to support the management and distribution of their assets.\n Ray has 28 years of experience managing the administration of trust and estate accounts. Prior\n to joining TD Wealth, he served as a Managing Director of Trust for the East Region at U.S. Bank\n and was a Managing Director at U.S. Trust, Bank of America Private Wealth Management. He\n has been a member of the Board of Directors of the New York Bankers Association and is past\n Chairman for both its Trust and Investment Division and its Trust and Estate Administration\n Committees.\n\n Ray is a frequent speaker at estate planning seminars offered by the American Bankers\n Association, New York State Bar Association, New York State Bankers Association, the Practicing\n Law Institute, and the New York State CPA Society. He is an emeritus member of the Board of\n Directors of the Long Island Community Foundation. Ray is a graduate of St. John's University\n School of Law and received his undergraduate degree from Boston College, graduating from the\n School of Management's Honors Program.\n \n \n \n \n \n                                                         \n \n \n \n \n
